There's something about the seas...

THE SKEGNESS BEACH(UK) ON THE NORTH SEA

The first time I got to have the audience with this powerful, mesmerizing and beautiful part of mother earth was in 2001 when I got a chance to visit the Skegness (Lincoln shire) Beach on the North sea. Since I am from a land locked location in my country this was the first chance I saw my dream being realized. That was long back and the memories have somewhat faded. One remarkable thing was that i was enjoying the blissful state of bachelorhood at the first rendezvous with the sea.

The chance came again, a bit late but was truly memorable when I went with my girlfriend to Goa. That plan was devised in way to touch upon my love for the seas and also for the damsel in my life. And the plan worked out well for one the memories of the sea still haunts me and the girlfriend was promoted to be my life partner!

Goa as people say is the place where one gets all the hospitality and locations to freak out. Enjoy the Sea food, Port wine, the sweet nothings said to each other on a beach shack close to the white foam and cool waters constantly caressing your feet dangled in it and not to forget the secluded companionship as if it was the perfect date straight out of a romantic novel. We had the best of the times which could come across any young mind. The beach shacks served the tastiest and most palatable sea food we ever had in our life, the cool environs just took us to a time warp to fantasy land, and the deep blue colored sea always coaxed us to think of better times ahead. It was a dream date; there's nothing more one can ask for. And to top it all the girl of my dreams was there with me, also I was considered for many such happy times in life with the same lady!

WAVES AT  CALANGUTE BEACH GOA

The third time I officially became we! and then we were three, as the new member of my family was my cute little son who accompanied us to his first voyage to the sea beach. This time we headed to Puri, which is on the eastern coast of India, has a reputation of good beach plus is the abode of Lord Jagannath. The place also is characterized by many locations of tourist interest nearby. A few of them being The majestic Konark Sun temple, The estuarian Chilka Lake, and Bhubaneshwar. We set foot on the sea beach of Puri to just indulge ourselves and to remember old days.

The days went by and we discovered that Puri is a very slow paced place with relatively no  fun and frolic as compared to Goa and has more of tourist and religious importance as compared to the seaside. But as both of us had developed the liking for the salt water we had the maximum day close to the sea on the beach, talking, taking pictures, playing with our son and snacking.

The Konark sun temple is a place where one just is awe struck by the size and the beautiful carvings not to forget the grand old dad of all the architectural wonders. The temple dates back to the first century AD!! and is still standing strong. The beautiful sculpture of the sun temple is simply fascinating.

The famous wheel of the Konark temple is a worth watching specimen of ancient art.

THE WHEEL

The Chilka Lake is a picturesque location having various boat ride options offering 2-3 hrs of boating at one go in the aquamarine waters of Chilka.

THE CHILKA LAKE

There are many migratory birds which can be spotted on the small islands in the lake. And the boat ride is one magnificent experience.

THE BIRDS NEAR SEA MOUTH

The Chilka is formed due the Bay of Bengal's ingress into the mainland. The place where the lake and the sea meet is known as the sea mouth and is worth watching with the red crabs running around, many locals selling so called real pearls and the sea waves crashing in  the lake.

The trip ended with the fondest of memories and good times together. Wish to see the sea once more in life with better memories and places to remember.
